Even though this park has only one ride, it is so well themed that it should serve as a base from which theme parks are based upon in terms of theming. Here are some of the park's highlights.

Heart of Africa- This walking attraction is themed to be an expedition through Africa, allowing visitors to see animals that they normally wouldn't see w/o a trip to Africa, as well as a chance to feed giraffes. Theming is excellent, w/ animal prints on the paths, as well as a comprehensive guidebook.

Lorikeet Landing- These beautiful (and noisy) birds will drink nectar from a cup in your hand. Can you say 'Kodak moment'?

Media: Lorikeets

Condor Ridge- Showcasing animals from North America, namely the extremely endangered California Condor. A nice guide is available from the 'Condor Spirit'.

Media: Condor, Prairie Dog

The Ride:

Wgasa Bush Line Railway: This 50-minute monorail ride takes you through several of the park's enclosures, including Africa and Asia. I highly suggest you ride more than once, as every guide has new tidbits of information.

Media: On-Ride

The Shows:

Bird Show: A fun and educational bird show, ending w/ a dive of Harris hawks from a blimp.

Elephant Show: A showcase of the park's Asian elephants.

Mombasa African Acrobats: This high energy performance group performs many amazing stunts.

Other options worthy of considering are the park's Snooze and Snore program for kids, as well as Photo Caravans which allow excellent access to all park animals. More information on these programs are available at their website: http://www.sandiegozoo.com
