Walter Bollinger and Claude Mabillard started as partners around '85 at Giovanola of Switzerland, a
subsidiary company to the larger Intamin. One of the coasters that they worked on while at Giovanola is Flashback at SFMM where
they only worked on the trains. Flashback is an Intamin Space
Diver, only one of its kind.
In 1988 B&M broke off of Intamin and started their own outfit in
Monthey, Switzerland. Six Flags Great America decided they would like to
have a new coaster for the '90 season. They noticed B&M's work through
Intamin and ordered a stand-up from them. This stand-up was to become Iron
Wolf.
B&M was off the ground. Since then, Bollinger and Mabillard have
created many new roller coasters, as well as new trains, inversions, and
tracks. Their work in the roller coaster industry gives them the
distinction of being Great Minds.
